I believe that giving birth can be one of the most empowering experiences of a woman’s life. It is a privilege for me to be a part of her birth team and to provide her with the physical, emotional and educational support that will help her to achieve the kind of birth experience she hopes for. There are so many personal choices to be made during pregnancy and childbirth and as a Certified Childbirth Educator and a Birth Doula I have the knowledge, experience and empathy to guide the mother on her personal journey. I am there to support not only the mother but also the other people (partner, family members, friends) she chooses to accompany her through the process. My role is to enhance, not to replace, the other members of her support team.
In my eight years as both a private doula and a Hearts & Hands Volunteer at UCSD, I have supported many women through all types of births – unmedicated, medicated, cesarean, assisted births, VBACs – both in traditional hospital settings and birth centers.
I would love the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your upcoming birth and to make sure that we are a good match. I can be reached at kutnerd@aol.com or by phone at (619) 917-4360.
