I have been involved in birth for over 4 years now and have been fortunate to attend families in all birth settings. The last year I spent an entire year at a birth center internship deepening my knowledge of birth and supporting hundreds of families in pregnancy, labor and birth. Like most doulas I provide the hands on labor support during the birth which includes massage, aromatherapy, verbal and informational support, and other "tricks of the trade" which can help with birth's intense work. My basic doula services include 2 prenatal meetings, the birth and a postpartum home visit. I also am a Certified Birthing From Within mentor and have childbirth education/doula packages. Other skills I have are photography, videography ( with a finished movie of the birth) and monatrice work. The option of Monatrice work involves Doppler monitoring and cervical exams at the mom's request. The advantage of monotrice services is that it provides additional information in choosing the right time to go to the hospital when labor is progressing normally.
