CIMS (Coalition for Improving Maternity Services)Join CIMS as an Individual Member.  Your support helps to achieve our long-term goal of making Mother-Friendly Care a reality, and it's tax-deductible as a charitable donation.  Visit www.motherfriendly.org. BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA SPEAKERS NEEDED Liza Janda has kindly extended an invitation to any doula to take a free prenatal yoga class.  At the end of class you are invited to talk for 5 – 10 minutes about what a doula does, benefits of having a doula, etc.  She also needs doula speakers for her Bradley classes.  If interested, email Liza at www.yogajanda.com, or give her a call 760-716-6386.  This is a great way to drum up new business!   SDBN SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE We will be using some of our SDBN savings to sponsor our members going to various seminars, trainings, and conferences.  Price is usually prohibitive, so we’d like to offer scholarships to cover up to half of the price of the event fee.  If you would like to submit for such funds, please use the “SDBN Scholarship Application” that is sent as a separate attachment.  In return for funding part of your event cost, we would appreciate it if you could summarize the seminar, training or conference and bring a handout of that summary for each of our members (40) to the following SDBN monthly meeting.
